La Rochelle wins (21-24) the Champions Cup for first time against Leinster

At the Velodrome stadium in Marseille and after a long and difficult fight, La Rochelle finally won (24-21) the Champions Cup final. While La Rochelle was down for most of the game, they managed to turn the tables at the end of this final. Gregory Alldritt’s teammates played a crazy last quarter of an hour to win by a landslide (24-21) against the Irish of Leinster.

The frustration of the final lost last year against Stade Toulousain is erased. La Rochelle joins the 13 clubs having won the Champions Cup at least once in their history. The coach of the team Ronan O’ Gara said “I think it is a monumental day for the club… it was all about winning and bringing that cup back to La Rochelle.”
