The Polish team have won their second volleyball World Cup final against Brazil. After 1974 and 2014, this is the third that Poland won the world championship. The atmosphere in Turin was electric thanks to the fans and helped Poland overcome Brazil with a straight 3-0.
Poland 3 – 0 Brazil
(28:26; 25:20; 25:23)

Poland was dominating throughout the game and never gave a real chance to Brazilians players to believe that they could win. Surprisingly, the game lasted for only 97 minutes and the Polish players proved once again that they can beat any team in the world with their talent and incredible team spirit.
Bartosz Kurek, incredible throughout the tournament, played his finest volleyball at the net (24 points). This overpowering 30-year-old, 2.05-meter tall athlete was already the leader when they won the Euro Championship in 2009. Later in the evening he won the MVP trophy of the tournament (best player).

Vital Heynen, Poland’s team coach, was extremely proud of his team’s success. Even though he has many great individual players in the team, the Belgian coach emphasised the fact that they won as a team: “Other coaches have great players, I have a great team, able to play the very best match of the tournament in the Final. Thanks to my players and to my staff. We would not be champions without them.”
