Eurovision 2018 song contest won by Israel’s Netta

This year Eurovision Song Contest edition took place in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, thanks to the last years’ winner Salvador Sobral. He took the first place in Kyiv with his song Amar Pelos Dios.

The winner of 2018 edition of Eurovision is Netta Barzilai’s with her song Toy. Netta being the representative of Israel, that is where 2019 edition of Eurovision Song Contest will be held. Competing with 25 other countries and their representatives in the grand final, Netta won with 529 points. Cyprus and Austria completed a Eurovision throne with Eleni Foureira taking 436 points for the second place and Cesár Sampson taking 342 points for the third place.

Winner Netta is a 25-year-old Israeli singer and a looping artist. In September 2017 she auditioned for season five of HaKokhav HaBa, Israel’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. Winning first place, Netta got a right to represent Israel at the Eurovision.

Eleni Foureira is a Greek singer, actress, dancer, and fashion designer. Foureira has made several attempts to represent Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest but never made it. In February 2018, it was confirmed that Foureira would represent Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with the song “Fuego”.

Cesár Sampson is an Austrian singer, songwriter, producer, dancer, and model. Sampson had previously performed backing vocals for the Bulgarian acts for two consecutive years in the Eurovision Song Contest. On 5 December 2017, he was announced as the Austrian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with the song “Nobody but You”.
