In the North of France, at the end of December 1914, the French and Scots faced German troops led by Horstmayer. A few days before Christmas, the morale is at its lowest on both sides. Lieutenant Audebert was very worried about his wife, pregnant and bedridden in a city now occupied by the enemy. On New Year’s Eve, when the Scots start playing the bagpipes, Nikolaus Sprink, who was a tenor at the Berlin Opera, sings a Christmas song. The enemies will start to fraternize…
